The National Museum of Nan is situated at Pha Kong Road, Nai Wiang District, Amphoe Mueang Nan, Nan.  The museum is opposite to Wat Phra That Chang Kham, near Wat Phumin. The style of the building is a combination between European style in the age of King Rama V and the native arts of Nan. It was originally used as the royal pavilion and the work place of Royal Governor Phra Chao Suriyawong Pharit Det and underwent two major renovations; the first restoration was in 1932 (2475 B.E.) when it was used as the provincial hall. The upgrade to National Museum of Nan was secondly made in 1974 (2517 B.E.).     The exhibition of the museum utilises windows, natural light, and the airy structure, making all visitors feel at home rather than at the museum, comfortable, and enjoy the displayed items even more.

This beautiful temple was built by an order of Chao Jettabutrabhrama in 1602 A.D. after he ruled Nan for six years. Its name was originally “BhramaTemple” but it later called inaccurate to Phumin Temple. The reason is the style of main building which is both ubosot and vihara (Buddhist monastery) that is really unique northern architecture. It is believed to be the first 4-portico vihara in Thailand.

Opposite Nan National Museum, formerly named Wat Luang Klang Vieang. The ruler of Nan, Phaya Phu Kheng was built in 1949 B.E., the Royal Vihara of Wat Phra That Chang Kam Voravihara is a large hall that built in the northern style. Inside the temple enshrined Chang Kam Pagoda which is Sukhothai art style at around the 20th Buddhist century. Around the pagoda are ornamental surrounding with elephant stucco statues in only half body. There is also a golden standing Buddha Image is the “Buddha Nathan Buri Sri Sakyamuni” which is 65% gold, 145 centimeters high, the topknot was added in 2442 B.E., weighing 69 Baht. Chao Ngua Lan Pha Sum, the 14th ruler of the royal city of Nan in Phu Kha Dynasty was built on Wednesday, 6th north month 1969 B.E. as Sukhothai art style and enshrined at the largest Tipitaka Hall in the country.

Wat Phrathat Chae Haeng is a sacred place to worship, situated on the eastern side of the Nan River which was the former center of the Nan town after moving from Pua town. Wat Phra Borommathat Chae Haeng was constructed during the rule of Chao Phraya Kanmueang (1326 – 1359 A.D.). The bell shape of Phrathat Chae Haeng is assumed to have been influenced by the Phra That Hariphunchai in Lumphun

Wat Sri Mongkol (Kong) is located at Yom Subdistrict, Tha Wang Pha District, Nan Province is an ancient temple, which has been given to be official temple since the year 2395 B.E. The most famous monk of this temple is Luang Pu Kong. Behind this temple, the scenery is beautiful which can see green fields and the mountains of Doi Phu Kha. The temple is made up of arches and scenic spots to take many pictures. Including Thai coffee shop for relaxing.

Wat Rong Ngae is an ancient temple. Assumed to be built around the year 1767 by the leadership of the Chao Luang Thep Phaya Lane, Chao Chang Pueak Nga Keaw. The former governor of town named "Lin". It is a group of Tai people who speak Lue language. Lin Town is in Xishuangbanna.Today Wat Rong Ngae was registered as an ancient temple of Nan in 1767, and was given to be officially temple on January 10, 1927. In the year 2007, Wat Rong Ngae was given by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Architectural Outstanding Award for Outstanding Architecture Types of shrines and temples by the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage.

Nan Riverside Art Gallery is the large private art gallery which covers the area of 13 rai. It is located on the bank of Nan River. The entrance is just in front of highway (the kilometer marker 20), about 20 kilometers far from Nan city. It functions as a center of Nan province’s art and culture. It was founded by Winai Prabripoo, a famous Thai artist and native of Nan, who loves art. The buildings were not modified from traditional houses or other buildings but it was his intention to build a new art gallery in the nature-friendly atmosphere for people who come to watch artworks to feel free and relaxed.    There are two buildings inside the art gallery area. The first one is two-storey building. The large hall on the first-floor hosts large exhibition. It can support more than 80-100 artworks. Therefore, the exhibition to be organized here must be national exhibition or the artist must have lots of art works to exhibit. The second floor is the place to exhibit art works and the accommodation of Master Winai.

A small street next to Wat Phumin and sitting on the floor with a northern style wooden tray for dish called “Khantoke” at front area of the temple. And cultural performances. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the evening until the night. There are many retail stores selling a variety of foods and souvenirs in a variety of styles. It is a tourist attraction that recommend when come to Nan province.

Sao Din Na Noi is a soil formation into strange shapes, similar to the “Phae Mueang Phi” of Phrae Province. From geological evidence, Sao Din Na Noi occurred from the movement of the earth’s crust during the late Tertiary Period and the natural erosion of water and wind. Geologists assume that it might be aged during 10,000 – 30,000 years and was once the bottom of the sea. There have been discoveries of stone bangles and ancient axes, which are currently preserved at the Nan National Museum. It reflects that this area was once a habitation place of human beings in the Paleolithic Age.

Pak Nai was originally a village by the Nan River. But after the construction of the Sirikit Dam, the village became a part of the water reservoir above the dam surrounded by green mountain ranges. As locals of Pak Nai village are fishermen, there are plenty of fish product from the reservoir. Restaurants on rafts providing tasty fish such as Pla Kot - catfish, Pla Bu - gobies, Pla Khang – Giant Catfish, Pla Raet - giant gourami, Pla Thapthim - Thai Red Tilapia, etc. Some rafts also provide accommodations for tourists who want to stay over. Apart from flavorful meals, visitors can also admire the scenery of beautiful mountainous forests, islets, and fisherman’s raft houses by renting boats from locals. Out of the rainy season, there will be a pulled-raft service to Wat Pak Nai, where visitors can enjoy meal on board. The trip takes approximately 2 hours. Moreover, there is a ferry service to Nam Pat District, Uttaradit province but stay over a night is recommended as it takes 6 hours for the journey. To get there: The village is in Na Thanung sub-district, 96-kilometer s from the center of the province. Take the Nan – Wiang Sa – Na Noi route to Na Noi district then take mountainous Highway No. 1339 to Ban Pak Nai for approximately 25 kilometers.

Housing the city pillar, Wat Ming Muang is situated on Suriyaphong Road. The temple was once an abandoned temple where the city pillar, made of 2 huge trunks, was found in the ruins of its vihara. Chao Anantaworaritthidej, the Nan ruler, established the temple around 1857 and named it ‘Wat Ming Muang’ after the name of the city pillar ‘Sao Ming Muang.’ (Sao means pillar) The ubosot was pulled down in 1984 and the new one was constructed in the style of the contemporary Lanna architecture. (Lanna refers to the northern part of Thailand) The outstanding features of the new ubosot include the fine carved relieves and sculptures, by Chiang Saen artists, on the outside of the building; the mural paintings, by contemporary local artists, depicting Nan people’s every life; and the 3-meter-high city pillar, standing in the pavilion in front of the ubosot. The city pillar’s base is wooden carved and decorated with gold leaves. The top of the pillar is carved in the image of 4-faced Brahma; each face is entitled Metta, Karuna, Mudita, and Upekkha respectively.

Created by Phaya Phan Ton, the ruler of Nan the Phu Kha dynasty (occupying Nan during 1960 - 1969), the name of the temple corresponds to the name of the creator Phaya Pha Ton, sometimes referred to as Wat Saree Phan Ton. In the past there was a large Bodhi tree on the north and south sides of the temple but now it was cut for construct the streets. Wat Sri Phan Ton was given the name Wisugkamsrima in 1962, the temple has a beautiful temple. The highlight is the glittering golden. Another temple in Nan with beautiful stucco painting, especially the seven-headed nagas guarding the stairs in front of the temple which is very beautiful and looks gentle, lively molded by a Nan technician named Mr. Anurak Somsak or “Sara Rong”.

Located near "Hor Kham" or Nan National Museum, there are Vihara and pagodas of Lanna local art style. This temple does not appear to create any era. There is only evidence that it was restored in about 2425 B.E. by Chao Anantaworaritthidej, the ruler of Nan. And later in the year 2472 B.E.in the reign of Chao Mahaprom Surathada, the last ruler of Nan. Vihara of this temple is beautiful. The pavilion is decorated with wood carvings, exquisitely decorated and beautifully decorated arches. Beech leaf stucco decoration in Western art. In addition, the temple also has an old Phra Tripitaka tower, like a vihara, but small and tall. Decorated with beautiful carvings and located near the pagoda.

Wat Phrathat Khao Noi is located at a particularly significant historic site. The area is believed to have been the site of the ancient Pua town (also known as Woranakhon), founded by Phraya Phukha and governed by his adopted son, Chao Khunfong. The temple, which sits atop a hill, boasts beautiful vistas of verdant rice fields during the rainy season. The construction of the Phrathat (or stupa) and Wihan (assembly hall) were completed in 1283. Inside the pagoda, it is believed that relics of the Lord Buddha are enshrined, the heart of the community’s faith. The architecture also showcases the great skill of Nan craftsmen, constructed in the Tai Lue style. The assembly hall is covered with two tiers of shingles, in a low, sloped Tia Chae shape. The entrance gate is of the Lan Xang style. The main Buddha image is in the local art style and there are mirrors are attached at the back of the image in accordance with Tai Lue beliefs. The temple is situated at Ban Kaem, Mu 5, Woranakhon sub-district.

The location of the temple used to be the downtown of Nan when ancient kings moved the city to the west side of Nan River. The main chedi (pagoda) was built by laterite brick with Sukhothai style during Queen Jamadevi (660 A.D.) or Nang Chamthewi of Hariphunchai Kingdom but later was renovated with Chiangmai arts during the King Tilokaraj period (1442-1487 A.D.). In the main ubosot (Buddhist chapel) is enshrined Buddha statue called “Prachao Fon Saen Ha” or the Buddha of Rain which Nan people used to bring out for a possession to ask for rain. There is an engraved pulpit which is believed to be the oldest one made Nan’s craftsmen.

"Hong Chao Fong Kham" is the home of Chao Fong Kham, who was descendant of Chao Anan Worarithidej, the 62nd ruler of Nan. The age of this house is more than 200 years old which is in ancient Lanna style. The roof is glazed with clay tiles. It consists of 4 houses divided into rooms such as bedroom, living room and kitchen, etc. All connected by patios and walkways. Stairway to the house is in front and covered with the roof. Teak wood used to build a house using the method of cutting and grinding with an ax and knife. The house is won the Architectural Outstanding Building Award in Housing residential building and private home Type for 2559 B.E. from The Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage. Upstairs is a residence. And local museum exhibit about the way of life The Association of Siamese Architects in the past and the ancient valuable articles, such as silverware and cloth, etc. It is also a living folk museum which dedicated to conserve culture of Nan people that is native weaving.

Wat Phaya Phu was established in 1956 as an ancient temple. The importance of Nan. According to the chronicles of Nan said Phraya Phu Kheng (Phaya Phu) of the Phu Kha.
